Booksmart is a 2019 American comedy film directed by Olivia Wilde, from a screenplay by Emily Halpern, Sarah Haskins, Susanna Fogel and Katie Silberman. It stars Kaitlyn Dever, Beanie Feldstein, Billie Lourd, Jessica Williams, Will Forte, Lisa Kudrow, and Jason Sudeikis.

It had its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 10, 2019 and is scheduled for release on May 24, 2019, distributed by United Artists Releasing.

In February 2018, Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein joined the cast of the film, with Olivia Wilde, directing from a screenplay written by Emily Halpern, Sarah Haskins, Katie Silberman and Susanna Fogel. Megan Ellison, Chelsea Bernard, David Distenfeld, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, and Jessica Elbaum, will serve as producers on the film, under their Annapurna Pictures and Gloria Sanchez Productions, respectively. In May 2018, Billie Lourd and Skyler Gisondo joined the cast of the film. That same month, Jason Sudeikis, Lisa Kudrow, Jessica Williams, Will Forte, Mike O’Brien, Mason Gooding, Noah Galvin, Diana Silvers, Austin Crute, Eduardo Franco, Molly Gordon, and Nico Hiraga joined the cast of the film.

Principal photography began in May 2018

6.3 on IMDB, says it all really, I'm with Mark on this, not funny trailer at all, Definitely geared at older teen audiences.

I love a teen movie! I'm 43 but love the look of this. It's basically a film about two besties who've been overworking and two school goodie two shoes who've realised they've been missing out on four years of fun but chose to study so on their last day of high school they just wanna have fun and catch up with the four years of fun they've missed out on. Looks hilarious and I'd watch it with my teenage sons if they wanted but it's definitely one for me! Love a teenage high school fun filled film. Thank you for Maddie for getting dad to review this one with you 😊
