Aron Kozicky says:

This is the most under-rated movie of all time. I absolutely love it! Practically perfect. Filmed in my home state of Minnesota!

Dottie Gardner says:

I would love to know what Inge said to Olaf and Elvin Francis before entering the church to get married. I believe it was something regarding the phonograph. Anyone? I truly love love love this movie.

ToddtheWadd says:

all the fields near me are divided up into 5 acre building lots. Banking and farming didn't mix and it's not what our grandparents wanted

Anne Childress says:

This is a beautiful love story.

Dottie Gardner says:

I've read most of the comments below and I am overwhelmed that so many viewers felt the same way as I. Once in a decade you read a really good book that you just can't put down or a movie that you want to watch over and over again. This was that movie for me, a touching love story with life struggles that made our ancestors come alive. I wish there were German language captions so we, the viewers, could understand her language a bit better instead of guessing. In my opinion, a well made movie that's not R – Rated.

Eric M says:

There were a few gaping flaws in the movie but I like that it captured an element of the starkness of farming life back then. I recommend a book called Giants in the Earth by O.E. Rolvaag for more on farming life in prarie country, or The Little House on the Prarie series of books.
